AMISOM Ugandan force leaving Somalia after their rotational mandate ends
A section of AMISOM troops have completed their one-year tour of duty in Somalia and commenced departures from the Mission area.
The departing troops have made a tremendous contribution to peace support operations in Somalia during their stay.
AMISOM lauds their commitment and sacrifice and wishes them well as they return home to reunite with their families and loved ones.
The troops include the Uganda People’s Defense Forces that have been in the country on a rotational basis serving together with the Burundian forces and Kenyan forces.
